What People Carry Away from Our Workshops

A selection of feedback from participants across all three programmes, collected between January and April 2026.

"I signed up for the Retirement Roadmap Workshop after my HR department mentioned it. I went in thinking I had a reasonable handle on my EPF situation. I came out with three things I needed to change, and for the first time, an actual number for what I needed to save. That was worth more than the whole fee."

Retirement Roadmap Workshop

"The Estate and Legacy Dialogue was exactly what my husband and I needed. We had been putting off writing our wills for five years, mostly because we did not know where to start. The session on nominees and joint tenancy alone was eye-opening. We walked out with a checklist and booked our solicitor appointment the same week."

Estate and Legacy Dialogue

"As someone self-employed, I always felt the retirement workshops I saw were designed for people with regular salaries. This one actually addressed my situation directly — irregular income years, voluntary EPF contributions, the gaps I had let accumulate. The follow-up call with Rosnani was also genuinely helpful."

Retirement Roadmap Workshop

"I attended the Comprehensive Financial Review Programme last November and received my written report in December. Seeing everything laid out — insurance gaps, debt load relative to my timeline, investment mix — was confronting but enormously helpful. I have already made two significant changes based on the report's priority list."

Comprehensive Review Programme

"I want to be straightforward: I attended with a lot of scepticism. I assumed it would end with someone trying to sell me a product. It did not. Three sessions, no pitch, no follow-up email about unit trusts. Just a workbook, a phone call, and a clear sense of what I need to do over the next two years. I recommended it to my brother immediately."

"The Wasiyyah session in the Estate Dialogue was something I had been wanting to attend for years. My siblings and I had disagreements about how my father's assets were handled, and I wanted to make sure my own affairs were structured clearly. Kavitha answered questions I had not even thought to ask. The digital pack is still on my desktop."

Estate and Legacy Dialogue

"My wife and I took the Comprehensive Financial Review Programme together. Having both of us in the same sessions, working through the same exercises, made a real difference. We argued less about money decisions afterwards — not because the money was better, but because we finally had the same understanding of our situation."

Comprehensive Review Programme

"I was nervous about the group setting — I did not want to share my financial situation in front of strangers. But the facilitator made it clear that no one was required to share specific numbers. The exercises were personal. The discussion was general. That balance was well handled. I would take another programme if I had the time."

Retirement Roadmap Workshop

"I had already retired early when I attended the Comprehensive Review. I thought it would be less relevant for me. It was not. Session 4 on investment positioning in drawdown — how to take from different pots in the right order — was something I had never seen addressed clearly anywhere else. That session alone changed how I think about my monthly withdrawals."

Participant Journeys

Stories from Before and After

These case studies are composites drawn from participant feedback. Names and identifying details have been changed.

From "I think I'm on track" to a clear savings plan

Retirement Roadmap Workshop · Salaried professional, 48

Challenge

This participant had been making EPF voluntary top-ups for four years but had no clear picture of whether they were making a meaningful difference. He had never run an income projection and felt that retirement was "probably fine."

What Changed

After Session 2, he calculated for the first time the gap between his projected EPF payout and his estimated monthly expenses in retirement. The gap was larger than he expected. Session 3 covered practical ways to close it within his existing income.

Outcome

He restructured his voluntary contributions, reviewed his PRS allocation, and set a concrete target for the following 36 months. He described the follow-up call as "the conversation I did not know I needed to have."

Turning years of estate avoidance into a completed checklist

Estate and Legacy Dialogue · Business owner and spouse, mid-50s

Challenge

A couple in their mid-50s, with a small business, two properties, and adult children, had no will and no mutual understanding of what their estate documents contained or whether any existed. They had told themselves they would "deal with it later" for over a decade.

What Changed

The programme gave them a structured language for the conversation. By Session 3, they had worked through what each property would require in terms of transfer, what the Wasiyyah would cover for the husband, and what the will would cover for the wife. The document checklist made the process feel manageable.

Outcome

Within eight weeks of completing the programme, both had signed wills prepared with a solicitor they engaged themselves. The husband had submitted his Wasiyyah to Amanah Raya. They described the programme as "the thing that finally made us act."

A recently retired professional, seeing the full picture for the first time

Comprehensive Financial Review · Recently retired, 62

Challenge

This participant had taken voluntary separation at 60 and begun drawing from her EPF. Two years in, she had growing uncertainty about whether she was drawing at a sustainable rate and whether her insurance coverage still made sense for someone no longer employed.

What Changed

Sessions 2 and 4 were the turning points. She discovered she was maintaining three insurance policies that overlapped significantly and could be rationalised. Session 4 clarified the order in which she should draw from her various accounts to minimise tax and maximise longevity of funds.

Outcome

She used the written report as the basis for a meeting with her insurance agent, who confirmed two of the policies could be consolidated. The post-programme review sessions helped her apply the drawdown strategy. She described receiving the report as "the clearest summary of my financial life I have ever held."
